Over the years, I have heard so many great stories about mastermind and also how beneficial it is for an entrepreneur. But with my traveling lifestyle finding one has been bit problematic as quite often masterminds are local groups. As I could not find one, I decided to create on. I am now part of a small mastermind group with fellow online entrepreneurs and am loving it.

What is a mastermind group?

The term was introduced by Napoleon Hill in his book Think and Grow Rich. Add this book to your reading list if you have not read it yet! A mastermind group is a “group is designed to help you navigate through challenges using the collective intelligence of others.” The size of the group varies but generally it is under 6 people. Less people makes it easier to handle and meetings takes reasonable time. Meetings can be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, totally depends on members and one can be part of multiple masterminds at the same time.

Accountability

we all certainly need it and especially when you are working from home it is crucial to have. it is just so easy to lose an hour or so just browsing Facebook or doing laundry or any other housework (cleaning for me!) when you really should be working on your business. A mastermind keeps you on your toes as you will report back to your group on your progress! Nothing worse than confessing to your mastermind group that you did not meet your target because of ended up browsing Buzzfeed for good three hours!

Think big

The energy that comes from people excitedly talking about their business and their business plans is priceless! By hearing other business owners plans you just cant start to think the same way as well. If you are not thinking big enough, the group will force you to. And that leads to the next reason…

Support

Being an entrepreneur can be pretty lonely at times, working at home, no boss checking on you, or colleagues to have a coffee break with. To be honest, friends and family can only listen so much about your email marketing plans and how your course launch is coming up… Mastermind is perfect place to talk about your big plans and get support from fellow members and advice how to do it the best way.

Learn

You also learn so much about running a business each time someone comes up with an issue they have on their business. You not only help but learn when listening to others. Same goes for successes, you don’t have to do all the mistakes but you get a short cut to success from fellow mastermind group members.

Collaboration
